Practices begin August 1st
Practices are located at our home field, located in the rear of Lakewood Ranch Park, 5350 Lakewood Ranch Blvd. If you turn heading west on Malachite Drive off of Lakewood Ranch Blvd, we are toward the end of the road and you can see our building on the south side of Malachite and Mustang Alley. If the fields are unplayable an alternate location may be announced.
Practices during the month of August are Monday through Friday 6pm-8pm. After Labor Day, practices are reduced to three days a week, Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.
August 1st will be the start of our mandatory conditioning (minimum of 20 hours). Please try to schedule family vacations around this time period, as any conditioning hours missed will need to be made up prior to entering the regular cheer practice schedule. Please remember to keep your child hydrated. (Click here for more information in Hydration)
EMB is a sideline cheerleading program and therefore all cheerleading squads will cheer on their respective football team during all regular and post season games. The regular season runs from August 1 through late October, with games being held typically on Saturdays beginning at the end of August. Games will be played either at our home field (Lakewood Ranch Park) or at our opponent's field. The game schedule will be available in late July, prior to the start of the regular season
In Addition, all competitive cheerleading squads will compete at Cheer Jam, and if qualified the Regional Pop Warner Cheer & Dance Competition at the end of the regular season. It is anticipated that these events will be held at the end of October and November. If a cheerleading squad advances past the Southeast Region Pop Warner Cheer & Dance Competition, there will have the opportunity to compete at the National Pop Warner Cheer & Dance Competition held at Disney's Wide World of Sports typically during the first week of December.
All EMB rules and expectations will be available prior to the start of the season. EMB will hold a mandatory player/parent town hall prior to the start of the season to discuss these rules and expectations. In addition, each team will hold its own mandatory player/parent meeting prior to the start of the season so that the coaches may introduce themselves and may go over their own rules and expectations for the season.
Lani grew up in Southern California where her love for cheering started with Pop Warner at the age of 6. She starting dancing at the age of 5, focused on ballet and jazz and also took gymnastics. She continued to cheer for Pop Warner even after relocating to North Attleboro, MA where her squad earned first place in the regional competition and earned an invite to Nationals in her 8th grade season. She went on to cheer throughout high school. Lani attended Florida State University, earning her bachelor’s in English. While there, she switched her focus from cheer back to dance and studied dance, focusing on ballet, in her spare time.
In 2018, Lani and her three kids moved to Bradenton from Texas and joined the Bulldog Family. This will be her children’s third season as Bulldogs. Lani became the Cheer Coordinator for the 2019 season because she had a desire to become more involved and help support her children in their love of football and cheer. Along with coordinator, she was the head coach of the Tiny Mites in 2019. She has met so many wonderful people and has truly enjoyed working with the cheerleaders. She is very excited for the 2020 season!
Lani has 10U & 14U football players and her daughter is a JV Cheerleader.
