6U Football

6U football is for 5 & 6 year-olds.  6U football is a fun, instructional level of teaching basic principles of football with an emphasis on team work, safety, blocking, and tackling while having a lot of FUN!!   We encourage social skills development as much as physical development, seeking to provide a positive experience for all of our players.  We aim to build the foundation that will allow our players to enjoy this sport for years to come and create friendships and memories that last a lifetime! 

6U will play 8-on-8 tackle football in full pads. The field size is reduced (80 yards)  to accommodate these younger players. In holding with policy implemented by Pop Warner, there are no kickoffs or punting at this level,  AND only a 2 point stance is used for offense and defensive lineman. Additionally, 6U football does not use a scoreboard. Each player is guaranteed play time in accordance with the minimum player rule. Teams play an 8 game season with a potential for a bowl game. Coaches will focus on developing fundamental skills, learning the rules, emphasizing proper technique, and most importantly, safety!
